When I came across this bag, as usual DIY popped into my brain! It’s very boho and carefree. Burberry has a whole collection of these artsy bags in their fall lineup, the Bloomsbury. While I wouldn’t fathom paying thousands of dollars for one, a quick DIY for under $20 was right up my alley! 🙂

You simply need your bag, some acetone (nail polish remover) acrylic paint and some brushes.

I picked up this semi-structured bag from a local discount retailer for $8 bucks! You can choose any kind of bag you want. If you’re not a fan of the bowler bag, something that evokes a similar shape and feel, such as mine, will do nicely.

My bag is faux leather so I prepped the surface by wiping it down with my acetone. It slightly removes the finish on the faux leather and will allow the acrylic to adhere better.

Now you can begin painting! Obviously precision is not a must with this project. Be sure to apply your paint in thin layers, allowing each layer to dry before you apply the next coat if you desire a more opaque finish.

I kind if mixed the designs from two different bags and took some creative license of my own. 🙂 sky is the limit really, so be creative!

If you make a boo boo simply wipe it off with a wet rag. As long as your paint hadn’t dried you can easily remove any mistakes.

All done! 🙂
